VENUE AMENITIES••

  • Three designated parking spots are available at the bottom of the ramp, which provides access to the main venue at the building.
  • The Pop-Up Market and Kids Zone/Family activity areas are located in the soccer field area past the tennis/pickle ball/basketball courts. Access is via the crusher dust service road leading from the parking lot to the area. Access to the individual booths and displays is on grass.
  • Access to the building including to the accessible washrooms is via the main front doors which is fully accessible. Help may be required to access the washrooms inside the building as they have large, heavy doors that are propped open for access.
  • 4 accessible picnic tables are available at the park, 3 in the splash pad area, and 1 in the community garden.
  • There is no general public parking available in the park’s parking lot, other than for accessible parking. Parking is available on local side streets, and at Rosemarie Park which is located a block south of the park on Gary Street. Please follow the direction of the parking attendant if you have questions.
  • Parking for up to 20 bicycles is available at tennis court entrance by the splashpad. Please bring a lock to lock your bike.
  • Visitors are encouraged to bike, walk, or take transit to the event. Transit rides are free to all of our events, thanks to Sudbury Transit. Just mention to the bus driver that you’re going to a New Sudbury Days event.
  • Transit access is available via the Main Line connection to Route 20 Graywood / Madison Local, which travels on a loop to/from the New Sudbury Centre. See the Schedule and Map. The closest stop is 7205 – corner of Madison and Gary. The park is a very short distance away south on Gary Street.
  • All City of Greater Sudbury buses have bike racks for 2 bikes, and a bicycle may be transported on-board a bus at the driver’s discretion.
  • Some active transportation routes are available in the City for those wanting to bike to the event. See the City’s Recreation Map.
  • We want to be environmentally-friendly, so there will be recycling (blue) and composting (green) bins available in select locations in the park at the Net Zero Waste Stations. Please help us get as close as possible to a zero waste event by using these bins and ensuring that you deposit your waste items in the correct bins. Signs will be posted, and some locations will have volunteers to help you make the right choice.
  • Volunteers will be sorting the bins after the event as we will be charged a processing fee if any of the bins are contaminated. Please make our job easy by choosing the right bin!
  • We will serve food on paper napkins to minimize the garbage generated by the event. Place all used napkins in the compost bins.
  • Please note that dog waste is not permitted in City garbage bins. Please pick up your dog poop and bring it home for disposal.
  • Tents with tables and chairs will be set up in various areas to provide shade while you listen to music or eat.
  • We are serving hamburgers and hotdogs, with choices for vegetarians/vegans. Our buns are not gluten-free. Your choice of a drink will include a pop, a juice box or a bottle of water. Please remember to put your juice box in the recycling bins and its straw in the garbage bins.
  • We encourage you to bring your own water bottles. Tap water is available in the park fieldhouse, or you can ask at the fieldhouse kitchen window to have someone fill it for you. Our outside water fountain/bottle filling station was vandalized 2 years ago and had to be removed.
  • We are a dog-friendly event, so if you require water for your dog, please ask at the main fieldhouse kitchen window, and we will provide you with a dog bowl and water. Please note that all dogs must be on leash and that no pets are allowed in the splash pad area.
  • The First Aid Station is located at the kitchen window at the fieldhouse. A first aid kit is available for minor injuries and a volunteer with First Aid certification is available on site. Please ask a volunteer to call the First Aid responder if you need help. For a serious injury, please call 911 immediately. We do not have a defibrillator on site.
  • Volunteers will be monitoring for any unwanted behaviours. If you need help or to report inappropriate behaviour, please come to the kitchen window at the fieldhouse building or talk to a volunteer. Volunteers will be wearing safety vests and have a name tag.
  • The lost child station is also at the kitchen window at the fieldhouse.
  • Our venues are all in public access areas. We will be taking photos of the event which may include photos of attendees.
  • Washrooms and changing stations are available in the fieldhouse.
  • We have lots of amenities to see and use:
    • Playground equipment
    • Splashpad
    • Open fields/small soccer fields for healthy play
    • New tennis/pickle ball/basketball courts
    • Baseball diamond
    • A community garden, food forest, pollinator garden to the left of the parking lot as you enter the park – come browse!
